Create or Select a Template for Your Website

Presentation is IMPORTANT too

If you are familiar with a graphics program and HTML coding, you can create your own website template. You can also use my free template and use my "A Little HTML Guide" to make the changes you need to get a website up and running quickly.

While I have designed several of my own templates using my favorite graphics package, Paint Shop Pro, it might take too long to learn all that plus everything else you have to learn to build your first website.

I recommend looking through some templates from a website that looks professional. At the very least, you might firm up your basic layout and color selections. If you find one that is perfect for you and your website subject, you should consider getting it as a template.

I like the templates that I found at 4Templates.com.

I have incorporated several of their templates into my websites. At first I found their instructions lacking, but that has changed. Now they are easy to use and include excellent instructions and support, if you need it.

When you download the template, be sure to download, read or otherwise obtain the instructions and webpage links to use the information whenever you need it.

You may need more information, or you might need help to figure it out. I have used some that only provided the most basic of information, so many would need a programmer to use the files.
