Other Work-at-Home Business Options
Did you know that over 98% of people who attempt to make money with a home-based Internet Business never make any profit at all? It isn't as easy as those website testimonies make it sound. Most people give up after spending a little cash and a lot of time.
It IS discouraging, especially if you've been scammed. Even if you have a nice website that people visit, it can be hard to build up your sales (get conversion) if you aren't a natural marketer.
While it is possible to make huge sums of money in an Internet-Based Home Business, clearly it's not for everyone.
There are many other home based and small business opportunities for entrepreneurs who are not interested in Internet businesses. If you don't think Internet Marketing is something you want to undertake, don't be discouraged. There are a slew of other great money-making home businesses.
You should choose a business that is RIGHT FOR YOU

When you enter "home business" in this search window, Amazon shows you a bunch of books you can buy on the subject. Just the titles give you ideas. Skip those clearly for Internet Businesses if you want.
I have a book called The Best Home Businesses for the 21st Century by Paul and Sarah Edwards. They address many good home business opportunities. Only a few suggest using the Internet. I found my copy (used) at Amazon.

CNN just had a segment on the news about non-traditional jobs highlighted in one of the books released recently "100 Bull **** Jobs and How to Get them", I think. Catchy title. They mentioned these ideas, among others:
Aromatherapy
Physical Trainer
Politician
At-home daycare
Tax Preparation
Medical Records Entry
Handyman and Home Improvement services, which are only managed from your home office. Obviously the work is elsewhere.
Many jobs require some training, but not a college degree.
You can check your local paper. Don't wait to contact those people because advertised jobs are filled quickly. Find out what days your local paper prints the job classifieds, and buy the newspaper that morning. Read it and make your contacts as soon as possible.
You can use Craig's List online for your local area, but please be very careful of the scams and risk level of some of the job offerings. Many of them are not placed by real companies looking to fill real jobs. Often the jobs posted are simply short term work. You need to verify the contracts are legal and when/if you would be paid.
On the other hand, many of the online jobsites offer great jobs and you want to post your resume there. Again some are scams. If they want money to post your resume, do your research. There are very few exclusive websites that fill executive jobs and they should have a proven track record you can verify first.
If you want to be sure that your resume is posted safely and used by real companies, use a well-known source, like Yahoo's HotJobs.
