Is WorldDect a Scam?
Or is a Good MLM Opportunity?
Is WorldDect MLM a SCAM? What is WorldDect?
I can't trust anything that I can't research with Google. This time I had to try ASK. Really, this was a hard one. On Google, I only found sales promo websites (hundreds of them) about "Worlddect". That didn't mean it was a good business opportunity. I had to dig deeper. I really suspect all MLM's are fishy, and this obviously is a multiple level marketing scheme.
Then I found a website named worlddect.biz with an ASK search. Don't bother looking anymore - it's GONE!
At the time (9-27-07) that site was designed specifically to be a major RED FLAG WARNING about the Worlddect scam. It said what I had suspected - "Worlddect is just another MLM scam". It read that it was put there by people who were once part of the development team and who had backed out and left when they realized it was just another MLM pyramid scam. (I bet they got threatened and had to remove the dissing website.) Was it malicious crap, or a real warning?
Well, first, the way the whole "opportunity" was presented to me reeked of scam. My introduction came in a particularly hokey spam email message to my blog email account, which indicated I think, that the downline was getting desperate already. The subject line was "Leave a legacy for your family".
The email linked to a website that was one of the most clever and professional-looking ad campaigns I had ever seen. So a lot of time and thought had gone into it. Yet, I couldn't find any information about the company except more member and company promotion sites. THIS IS A BIG CLUE! You should find independent reviews when you research anything!
I found NO information on the website history, which surely shows it was brand new. Yet the website name was registered in 2004, so it's been in development awhile. The Alexa info is hidden and there was no Google page rank (Rank 0). I can tell the originators put some thought and technical savvy into this "system" by how professional it looked. That did not make it credible tho.
Their message is clearly focused on CARE and caring about their sales teams. That's typical of any MLM - of course! They have to build downlines to make money at the top. Their product pages look cool, and their devices too, but are they worth the money?
Remember that most MLM systems require your membership fees and everyone else's membership fees to keep the pyramid running so everyone gets paid. This includes those on top with the most downlines. So of course, there is real glory (and income) for those at the top and a lot of incentive to keep their downline happy and fruitful.
So they give you help - and homework - and pressure to call all your friends and family, plus smile and sell it to everyone you meet. I know MY friends would REALLY be pissed off if I did that, and I don't want to lose them. (I've had some do it to me!) Sometimes in desperation people purchase expensive MLM leads or depend on sending spammy emails before they give up - most do. Your downline fails as they realize they can't make any money. You soon drop out and call it a SCAM.
NEW - MAY'08 - Research About WorldDect MLM
Please heed caution when considering the WorldDect MLM business or any MLM system yourself - (new research in May '08).
Have you heard of MagicJack? My son's got it and it's basically the same thing - only you don't have to pay every month - OR SELL IT to use it. Just $20 bucks a year will get you a USB connection for your phone. (Which has it's problems with dropped packets and doesn't really work very well anyway. But, yes, it has a free support forum, which he is using - without success so far.)
While Worlddect is "classy" European MLM business, it IS an MLM. It is computed in Euros and in the new US launch, it costs about $480 US to get started.
I'm getting bombarded with emails about it, so they have high hopes of grabbing the market before MagicJack gets it's act together.
WorldDect caters to global Internet business marketers (newbies, of course). They are now pushing their way into the US markets. You can find lots of sales promotion and member websites with a search that will try to convince you that this is a real business opportunity that you cannot afford to miss. Those overly persuasive ads scare me the most - cuz the most gullible people fall for them before they take the time to research first (and fall for promises).
Worlddect is still pretty new but rest assured, the top few levels are already full. I have never heard of an MLM that was worth the time and costs unless you are way up on top. If you have a different story, I'd like to hear it.
If you decide to spend your 280 Euros or $480 dollars to join up and after a few months, you like how it works for you, please email me at Karen@PlanBreview.com. Maybe I'll signup - NOT!
PS. I admit that I was "threatened" to tone down my raving SCAM review here. Now I'm on this stupid list about this stupid offer, and I'm just madder than ever about people getting pushed to promote MLM's. I hate them all. BUT, if you like them - go for it.
It's not a real online business tho, is it? I recommend you find a real product or promote someone's good products on your websites - and don't fall for the MLM promises. They rarely pan out and you might lose a good friend trying to get them to join you. (Update May'08)
